John 10:10 (KJV)
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
The Lord Jesus spoke these words to His disciples to give instruction for the life He desired for them. In so doing He uses the illustration of the good shepherd and his sheep. Here he reveals the care and desire that the good shepherd displayed toward his sheep. They were his and belonged to no one else. Therefore, no one could show the care and love for his sheep better that he could. As we consider this let’s consider the care and desire of the Great Shepherd for you and I who are the “sheep of His pasture”.
Many Christians today struggle in their daily lives that are lived out before all to see. They put on a mask as they enter the public arena only to be defeated when they return behind closed doors out of sight without their mask. The Lord never intended that for His sheep, His children, those whom He has redeemed by His grace through His own blood.
Hence the November Series on “Keys to Living”. Our desire is that all those who are willing to admit they face the struggle described above would find help that only comes through applying Biblical principles to their lives. May this season be a true display of Christians who know the meaning of living.
